Literature Text

Peeling back the layers,
I can see the faults,
The scars,
The hidden lies.

Peeling back the ages
I can see the webs,
The snarled strands,
The entangled lies.

Peeling back the mask,
I can see everything,
The ugly truth,
The hateful lies.

Peeling back the rage,
I can see my own faults,
The cool emotions,
The evil lies.

Peeling back the mind,
I can see the problem,
The stupid comments,
The hurtful lies.

Peeling back who I am,
I can see the future,
The encompassing loneliness,
The final lies.

Peeling back all the lies,
I finally see what I was meant to see,
The truth be told,
I was a lie.
Okay.... I admit this isn't my usual style, but. . . I've done a few lately like this. I like it, its certainly different.

I was raging - well... not raging... but its as close as i can describe it without calling it cold and i was VERY cold at the time- when i wrote this. Stuff happened and i got made. The first four stanzas were written from then. Now my anger is more self directed, but I know thats just as wrong as the first anger... and people say its a justified anger *coughbullshitcough*

Anyway, the last stanzas were added because it didnt feel finished if you know what i mean. so there you go, the life story of this poem.
